What do the numbers mean?
Download is how quickly data reaches this browser. Upload is how quickly it leaves. Both use megabits per second (Mbps). Latency is response delay in milliseconds (ms); lower is usually better. More details shows jitter and response delay while transferring data.
How much data does it use?
The configured test schedules up to 49.4 MB of payload, and stops earlier on slower connections. Network overhead and rate-limit retries can add data. It is a quick check, so a very fast connection may need a larger test elsewhere for a representative maximum.
Where does the test go?
Only after you start, your browser exchanges test data directly with Cloudflare's speed-test service. Cloudflare receives your IP address and connection requests. We disable the engine's optional result logging and do not save a test history. Read our privacy explanation.
